Each measure is documented with timeframe and impact profile on algae, sludge and harvest. Filter by impact or timeframe – or combine both.

The measures come from two directions: nature-based solutions that work with plants, mussels, sediment and bank structure, and processes from wastewater and nutrient treatment that bind phosphorus or add oxygen. Which of them works is decided at the water body, not in the catalogue – which is why measurement comes first and, usually, a combination comes last.

What is the 18-measure catalogue?

An evidence-based collection of the most effective levers for the restoration and stabilisation of inland waters – from quick wins (aeration, phosphate precipitation) to long-term restoration programmes (sediment management, shore renaturation). Each measure is documented with impact, effort and field of application.

Which measure fits our lake?

It depends on condition, trophic state and budget. We assess the status of your water body (ideally via a WAMO time series or SWIM map set), check which levers are sensible and propose the most effective combination – often 2–3 measures rather than a single large intervention.

Who carries out the measures – e.Ray or the municipality?

e.Ray accompanies concept, monitoring and impact verification. Operational implementation is taken on by specialist firms on site – we broker and coordinate. The value-creation network thus stays regional.

How long does a typical restoration project take?

Quick wins can be implemented within 0–3 months; first effects may become visible within one season (3–6 months), depending on site conditions. Stabilisation measures run 3–12 months, long-term programmes 12–36 months. Deep restoration with sediment or shore interventions takes 5–10 years to show robust impact – with continuous monitoring to verify it.
